Ask Alix – How to Date a Porn Star

  November 28, 2017

Alix! You’re the shiz. Seriously. I follow you on all your social media (you’re freaking hilarious BTW – especially on Snapchat) and I must admit, I’ve got a little bit of a crush on you. What does it take for a regular guy like me to land a date with a lady in your industry?

First off, thank you for the love! I’m beyond flattered. Contrary to popular belief, it is indeed possible for a regular fella like yourself to date a porn star. There’s no one secret formula because every women is different from the next, which means we each have different needs, desires, personalities and values. With that being said, there are a few pointers I can give you based on my own personal experiences that may help you step up your game when it comes to dating a sexual Olympian like myself.

  1. Don’t be a fan. This doesn’t mean you need to put the brakes on having a few favorite porn stars, and it certainly doesn’t mean you need to stop watching porn altogether. What is does mean is that if you happen to see your porn crush out in public and want to stand a chance at taking her out on a date, don’t drop the F bomb – in this case, “F” meaning fan. If you tell her flat out that you’re a huge fan (while it’s absolutely appreciated and you may even get a hug and a selfie) you’re automatically putting yourself into a category separate from her personal dating interests. Potential dating material for a porn star means being interested in us as a person, not for what we does for a living.
  2. Don’t bring up our jobs. If you happen to have a run-in with your porn crush, it’s totally understandable that you can’t think of anything to bring up in conversation other than what we do for a job. But be warned, if you want to boost your chances of being seen as a potential dating option, don’t even mention what we do for a living. We’re well aware that everyone watches porn and that many people know who we are, but think of it this way: almost everyone we encounter asks about our job as a porn star. While we love our work, we’re still just normal people who like to enjoy our “me” time away from the set. Plus, simply not asking about our job will make you stand out to us tremendously!
  3. Be yourself. I can’t stress this enough. The other day, one of my friends who’s been around porn women for years said to me, “It’s extremely difficult to impress a porn star with fancy stuff.” Even though he said that jokingly, it’s absolutely true. We’ve all had men try to impress us with fancy cars, boats, houses, and clothes, and while there’s nothing wrong with enjoying the finer things in life, dropping names and talking about how much money you make will only take you so far. For me, it raises a red flag immediately. I will always prefer a dorky gentleman with a weird sense of humor and a regular job over a smooth talker who brags about his famous friends and private jet.

Dating A Pornstar

Just remember this: while we are indeed sex goddesses, we still want to be shown respect, kindness and a genuine interest in who we are as people. Our ability to rock your world in bed is simply icing on the cake.
